Serendipity Blackmagic 9.0 announced

SYDNEY, Australia – March 3rd, 2022 – Serendipity Software today announced version 9.0 of Blackmagic, a major update to the software that includes many new features and enhancements of benefit to new and existing customers alike.

“Blackmagic version 9.0 adds dark mode support allowing better integration of the user interface with the operating system look and feel" said Peter Skarpetis, Serendipity Software's Chief Executive Officer.

Blackmagic version 9.0 adds transparency support to the processing pipeline enabling the Studio application to support jobs with transparency. Studio now offers advanced composition modes for files with transparency.

Blackmagic version 9.0 adds text support to the Studio application allowing users to freely place text anywhere on the canvas.

Blackmagic version 9.0 introduces support for SVG files further enhancing the transparency features of the Studio application.

Blackmagic version 9.0 enhances the server step and repeat functionality by allowing the user to select a Studio application template specifying the step and repeat layout.

Blackmagic version 9.0 further enhances the Softproofing add-on by adding Screening simulation to the Softproof application. This allows the user to quickly see the result of angle / frequency combinations and to detect any artefacts that might occur during printing.

Blackmagic version 9.0 adds support for N-Colour Calcheck charts enabling the user to configure sophisticated colour verification pipelines.

Blackmagic version 9.0 improves error reporting by introducing a log level for each error message allowing the user to filter error messages by severity. Additionally critical errors messages and warnings are colour coded further enhancing the visibility of these messages.
